Upcoming Character Change
Hello all, for anyone who hasn't seen me talk about this on twitter yet, there will be an upcoming change in DOTD that replaces the main character Mari. Due to some IRL circumstances, I won't be using her as a character anymore. Instead, she will be reworked to a new character named Brookes, aka Big Green. Update 0.6.0 will have new assets and things for this change. The character Red will also be replaced soon, due to the same reasons.
Sorry to all who have a place for these characters in their hearts, believe me, I do too. It will be sad to see them go, but I hope we can love the new ones all the same!

Unfortunate. I'd wager that's gonna be quite tedious to replace throughout the project. It'll probably take a while to do, but don't be discouraged!
It's practically already done! There's a few more spots to fix, but I've got all the model renders and sprites updated :)

It's unfortunate but totally understandable that these sorts of things can happen in indie projects like this. Keep trucking, I believe in Brookes and Red's replacement being perfectly serviceable replacements.

im not sure but im gonna take a guess and say that the characters you were using are inspired of some ones else character as a tribute and now the creator of those characters got in trouble (idk if these might be the real reason jsut a supposition)
Pretty close. They weren't mine but belonged to someone who was close to me. Things got bad between us, and yeah. Maybe if things ended on better terms buuut, well I did the best I could.

well the original and her still look similar which is good enough for me plus some characters changes won't hurt that much for an amazing game
