Incoming bugs for update 5!

1. When meeting Isabella in the Temple of the Slime Lord, and after Jill admits that *spoiler*, then choosing the option with the heart, I think Isabella's supposed to be angry when still trusting Jill like if you were to choose "Side with Jill", but she stills remain neutral like when not siding with both her and Jill.

Just a question about siding with one of the slime girls, after choosing  "Side with Isabella" or "Side with neither", you still have the option continue to going to the next zone either with Isabella alone, or without her (after the fight). Is that intended?

2. When Jill's at her final slime state, when her dialog icon goes to her with her eyes closed, her VN art of her supposedly being at  final slime state with her eyes closed doesn't appear and either just disappear or will be her last VN art. https://ibb.co/JFjW34fZ

3. When first using this crystal in the Depths to unlock the new area to quick teleport, then teleporting to the new area, you basically take a huge shortcut to further ahead in the Depths. https://ibb.co/CpC7v6gQ

4. After fighting this Gally, then getting her back up, then interacting with her once, she disappears and can no longer be interacted. https://ibb.co/vvjdRBZZ

5. After accepting Mama Slime's quest, when talking to her on the left, her top body disappears, then reappears after finishing talking to Mama Slime. https://ibb.co/s96JHkXc

I also think Henry the Slime should has his own VN art, or dialog icon when talking to him, especially when he evolves, because I think it's cute when talking to him every time when going to new areas and seeing him evolve. It would just be an image of him as a slime, and image of him as an evolved slime boy.

I agree on Henry getting some art :)  Also what method do you normally test with?  Browser or download?

For anything small like new arts (mainly new VN art transformation stage for a character like immobile Isabella for example), it would be the Browser. But for big stuff like a new area, it's the download so I can transfer my save file.

Before the download, I used to start the game at the beginning, then work my way to the new content while having some setting changes to help get there faster. Hence, I was able to detect either bugs, or outdated stuffs that could be updated in the older areas, like one of the fairies at the early game who wants her rock that had an old dialog image, until now it has a newer dialog image.

hey there a bug with the slime cubs they won’t disappear and I pick every option but nothing happens.  

I have a fix for this soon

Bugs!(for update 4 so far)

1. A major bug is that after interacting with these slime cubes in the Temple of the Slime Lord, they don't disappear. I'm able to bounce over the first cube, but not the second cub, meaning I can't continue the story. https://postimg.cc/8Jg8RSCw

2. There are these tiles in the red rectangle near the entrance of the Slime Tunnels, where when standing on them will hurt everyone. https://postimg.cc/dk5Bq2gd

I haven't checked everything yet as I wanted to check the art first, and I think it's very creative for what's done for immobile Isabella. Makes me wonder how she'll look like after hitting the final inflated state (just hopefully she'll have puffy cheeks). I also think it's a good idea to make her overworld sprite and battle sprite to be green after hitting the final slimed state. Same goes for Jill as her overworld sprite while at the final slimed state is green, but not her battle sprite. 

When I read "Added new battle sprites" and I saw Sporella, I thought it was already added in, but I second thought to myself, and realized it was her enemy/boss sprites that was added, and they look great! I do hope that all enemies and bosses get their sprites soon.

I do have a question, while I was doing the Sporella boss fight to see the new art, I berried her, then I questioned myself. If I miss used the berry items, how would I get more?

The berry items should always hit (I think), but you can get a new one where you found them, usually. I think the only exception is coraline's.


And yes, I've been meaning to update Jill's battle sprite for full slime

Sounds good, and I hope there's also plans to update her enemy sprite when trying to fight her at the beginning of the game, and when starting the vore route as well.

I also think it's a good idea to add an object or NPC in the dev room to interact with and get the berry items.

Eventually all the battle sprites will be updated. It's process! An expensive one too

I've got a few questions as well as a report.

- Is anything else going to be done with Zavia? Just my opinion, but I feel the castle is a bit off I guess with just being the 3 rooms. Obviously it doesn't need to be a massive area, but its just her and 2 unfreeable prisoners ( which I found a bit odd since the one appears to be in the position that devouerable enemies take, but you cannot get to that prisoner ). And once you get the castle key all you get from it is to know that Issy left and that Zavia is still hungry. It's a dumb tangent, but I feel like it leaves a bit more open yk? 

- Are the sewer keys supposed to disappear from inventory after use? The one from the puzzle prior to the statue doesn't disappear and can be used on the gate that you're supposed to dissolve the rusted chest to open. 

-Upon entering the dungeon and getting the DOTD title card, there's a dev girl saying the typical, " Sorry to break your immersion...", but she isn't blocking anything, which allows you to keep going forward. You hit that roadblock with that giant slime blocking the way, but you can walk right thru him. 

Is that supposed to be this way?

- Final thing. In the room beneath the rooms prior to the previous image, there seems to be boundary that wasn't set lol.  I ended up out there by going all the way right, and up. That wall didn't seem to have a boundary on it. 

If any of this was already addressed in another comment, I apologize.

Zaivas castle and her follow up stuff is still a work in progress!

The sewer keys are supposed to disappear after use, I'll look into that.

for some reason i cannot find the sparkling water for the watermelon sorbet, i tried looking behind the water fall but there was no entrance, please help

It is behind the waterfall. You have to go in the middle and blow past some seaweed with Aerate

I like Isabella's move set; she's kind of a mix of Jill and Lexi. I think if she joins the party in the early game, she'll be OP.

Good :) shell be a late game companion, otherwise she's very op!

There's only one bug that I've found, and that's being able to bounce over the gate in the Sewer Dungeon.

I'm happy that Isabella is now playable, even though she doesn't have any skills for now.

I have DM you at Game Jolt with mainly where the bug occurs, and some other stuffs and about the game that may contain spoilers. Also change the link in the post to direct it to the test version of the game, because it's still currently being directed to the main version.

Is there any way to transfer the game data from the previous versions (the itch.io browser) into this version because I don't want to have to replay the game since I made it so far to the part where I'm just waiting for the slime dungeon to be finished at the time (before the price change message showed up)

Unfortunately there isn't a way that I know of to transfer it :( I'm talking to support to try to keep hosting on itch, but they likely have a hard limit on file size 

That's very unfortunate but at least I have the knowledge from the game in order to repeat it again and make my new game run much faster than before

Is there a download option on gamejolt? I don't want to lose all my progress

Thanks to most of the fixes for this build, along with the debug assistances, I got to advance further to the game, and I'm already excited to be so close to the end of the game! I'm not going to spoil of what I saw, including some bugs, but I can't wait to see the different endings for this game! I do hope for new music as well as the game draws close to the end.

I also think that it's cool that you also posted the game to Game Jolt as well to spread the awareness about the game. However, I think you might have to make it downloadable for the test build as well, because as soon as I started it, it took a while for the game to load, as well as the images. 

As for the bugs, unfortunately TP is still not kept after battle while slime filled. This here will show what I mean (check the party members' TP to see what I mean before, during, and after battle) (sorry if it takes a while) https://ibb.co/DHckjRL6

Along with what I showed you, it appears that Jill's overworld sprite is showing the waterlogged sprites while she's currently slime filled.

Once last bug I've seen is when Polly goes to stage 1 and 2 for slime filled state, her icon goes missing.

Yeah gamejolt was necessary because I've gone over the file limit for itch :(

Bug Report!

2. Lexi's slime VN aren't appearing. (Edit: The same thing happens to Gally)

3. A slime NPC said that while slime filled, you'll keep the TP after battle, however, it's not kept after battle.

4. When using the new slime ability, it'll not destroy these obstacles, unless there's something else I need to do. (P.S.  I've used bounce to get this chest, but I'm unable to get the other chest in the next room) https://postimg.cc/FfN93znp

Speaking of the Temple of the Slime Lord, regardless of it currently have content or not, will I have to talk to the other Bosses of each Seal in order to enter in the temple?

Yay! Finally a new build! It feels like almost half a year past for me since a new test build is released, but I understand if you needed to rest for a little.

As for the build, I can't continue the slime zone as the dev girl is blocking the next room in the first room of the slime zone after the room with the slime strengths and weaknesses. I do know there's more content, but I would prefer to access them from start of the slime zone to finish without just debugging to them.

I've also got to see a little early access to the interaction of the party members. So far, only Jill is interactable while everyone else causes the game to bring an error message when selecting "How are you doing?". I do hope Jill gets more dialog, but I do think everyone should have either 3 or 5 lines to say on each state they currently are on.  Nonetheless, I see great potential for the party members interaction. 

How would the players get to interact with the party members once it's ready?

Yeah :) Ive been doing some cooking again ! 

I meant to remove the dev girl blocking, for now you can use the Skip to Content menu from the test room, or bounce past her, to see the rest. I'll put up another build soon that fixes that. 

The party interaction is an early feature im working on! There will def be more lines for everyone based on their states and stuff :) There will be a button on screen that will open the menu (When the feature is ready). 

Sound's good, though I don't know why I didn't think about doing that before.

One more thing, once the whole game is complete, will there be plans to update Brookes' VN art? Ever since she got her immobile art, she does have new expressions, making her other VN arts feel very outdated. And also, the second VN fat stage for her and Jill is just the first stage, but their belly exposed while everyone else's second stage does look fatter than their first stage.

I'm just thinking about the future of the game for anyone who hasn't heard about it until the eventual steam release.
